Yukawa Shuzo

Founded in 1650 by Kurouemon Yugawa in the scenic Kiso region of Nagano, our brewery has been crafting exceptional sake for over three centuries. Nestled at 936 meters above sea level, we are proud to be one of the highest breweries in Japan, benefiting from the pure, crisp mountain air and crystal-clear water that define the distinctive character of our sake. Today, under the guidance of the 16th-generation owner, Naoko Yugawa, and her husband Shinichi Yugawa, the brewery has launched the 16th Generation Kurouemon Sake brand. This new line pays tribute to the legacy of our founder while embracing innovation, creating modern-style sakes that appeal to the evolving tastes and sensibilities of the next generation of sake drinkers. We invite you to experience the craftsmanship and tradition of our long history, beautifully reimagined for today’s connoisseur.
